New² Bio Crystal is a high-quality filter medium made of foamed glass, distinguished by its large surface area. It is manufactured at very high temperatures, creating porosity that allows bacteria to penetrate the entire medium. This medium can improve the performance of the last chambers in any multi-chamber filter. The colonization area is significantly larger than that achievable with stones or plastic media. Once added, the medium floats; it should either be placed in filter media bags or weighted down to prevent it from floating.
