PH Plus (1 kg)
Details
Excessively low pH values and the resulting insufficient acid-neutralizing capacity often lead to acid damage in fish and plants. The decisive factor here is the carbonate hardness. At a carbonate hardness below 6° KH, there is no longer sufficient acid-neutralizing capacity, and the pH value can drop well below 5. Adjust the carbonate hardness to a value of 8° KH.
A sudden drop in pH can lead to the death of all animals in the pond. Maintain your pH level between 6.5 and 8.0 and check these values regularly. The bacteria in the filter produce CO2 by breaking down pollutants, which in turn breaks down carbonates.
Regular monitoring of carbonate hardness and pH value, with an increase in this hardness, is therefore regularly necessary.
